I'm Michelle, but
everyone calls me Shell (unless my Husband is trying to
get my attention). I live in North Carolina and am a
SAHM to 2 beautiful kids. I've been with Mommysavers
since 2003 and have been a moderator for over a year
now. Mommysavers has been a great outlet for me...I can
talk, get advice and best of all...shop for great deals!
In my spare time I like to curl up with a good book, or
watch a movie. My

My name is Sonja and have been with
Mommysavers for one year. I am married to my husband
Randy for almost 7 years and we have 3 daughters.
Ashlynn is 7, Brooklyn is 3 and Kaylin is 2. We live in
the Frozen Tundra land of Wisconsin home of the Green
Bay Packers!! I came across Mommysavers while doing a
coupon search. Lo and behold I have been here since! My
biggest money saving strategy is to plan your meals and
stick to your grocery list. This has helped me in the
past. I am passionate about scrapbooking and using
coupons. I would love to say I love to cook but that is
not included in my domesticated side! Unless you count a
real mean bowl of mac n cheese! This forum has
kept me sane in the last year when I have thought I
would be at my wits end. Everyone here is great!

My name is Pamela and I'm a SAHM from
Indiana. In my previous life I was a nursing manager for
a neurosurgical unit. I live in a wonderful suburban
community with my husband of 24 years (yes I'm that
old!), my 17 year old daughter, my 15 year old son, and
the world's biggest cat!
I don't remember exactly when I joined Mommysavers, but
it's been over 5 years and I'm an addict! I'm sure I
started coming here looking for bargains, and I still
enjoy the freebies and shopping links, but I spend most
of my time in the discussion forums now. Where else can
you go to discuss serious things like family problems,
world events, or ask for solutions for life's everyday
problems, and also share recipes, frugal suggestions,
and discuss your favorite reality TV show? It has
something for everyone!
I like to read, surf the internet, and lunch with
friends. I also volunteer a great deal with my
children's activities in my spare time. My forums:

I am a 34-year-old SAHM from southern Indiana. I
enjoy home teaching my four children - Daniel (11 yo),
Andrew (8 yo), Stephen (6 yo) and our little surprise,
Emily (2 yo). I am an on-call lactation counselor and
enjoy volunteering my time with several family-oriented
organizations.
I reside in southern Indiana with my
wonderful DH of 15 years. Our family enjoys tent camping
and fishing, studying martial arts (I have a brown
belt), and playing board games. I especially enjoy
reading, traveling and watching movies. I am new to the
moderating team and excited to be a part of this
phenomenal site! I happened upon Mommysavers while
searching for online shopping codes and have enjoyed the
site ever since! Mommysavers is a community where anyone
can find new ideas, seek advice and share with other
mothers! My best frugal advice is know your own
priorities and live accordingly. Keep your budget in
check, and, when you are out of debt, stay out! My

I have a dh of 17 years, a son who is 6 and a daughter who is 3 (to whom we
affectionately refer as Her Royal Highness).
I live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central VA, near Mr.
Jefferson’s University and Mr. Madison’s Montpelier. We grow great grapes
and make great wine around here. I have many interests but little time to
indulge them. I knit, I scrapbook, I shuttle my son to swim practice. I
have a full time job (which is not an interest, but a necessity). I read
every night before bed, as it is the only thing that really relaxes me.
What originally brought me to Mommysavers, many many moons ago, was the
coupon forum. I found a group of women who had the same passion for paying
as little for groceries as possible – I was in heaven! I then started to
become more active on the boards, sometimes causing a ruckus because of my
outspoken opinions. I had to take a break for a while due to work
responsibilities, but I’m back now, so watch out! I don’t know if I have a
favorite money saving tip, but my philosophy is simple: Do you need it or
do you just want it? If you want it, then it can wait. If you need it,
then buy it. My forums:

Bonniebelle38 My name is Bonnie,
I'm a married SAHM to 1 ds and 1 large dog! I live in Louisville, Ohio.
Other than spending time with my family and friends I enjoy surfing the
internet, bargain shopping, reading, watching TV & going to tractor pulls
with my ds & dh.
I have been a member of MS for at least 4 years. I
really like all of the ladies here, most everyone is very supportive of each
other, and I enjoy hearing all of the great advice and different opinions.
I save money by not only having a yard sale once a year,
but by taking my family's clothes to my local consignment shop. I also use
as many coupons as I can when I grocery shop.

Hi. I'm Carol, SAHM mom to two in Arizona. My son is 7 and my
little diva is 2. She's my "child of many facets". Happy, warm and fun one
second and throwing a screaming tantrum the next. Fortunately, the sweet
child emerges more than the devil child. In other words, a typical two year
old. My 7 year old is a child with mild Aspergers. He looks and seems
typical when you meet him, and is a very sweet little guy. He is what led me
to moderate in the Special Needs forum. DH and I will be married 25 years in
Nov. '07.
Before becoming a mommy, I was a buyer in the computer and office industry.
In other words, I got to spend other people's money, anywhere from $10,000
to over $100 million per month. Needless to say, my budget was cut waaaay
back when I left. When I found Mommysavers, I was thrilled to find ways to
save money and to find some great friends. One of my favorite ways to save
money is simply to stay home. I do that a little too much, however, and it's
great to communicate with the outside world via Mommysavers. I have found so
many ways to save money on Mommysavers, but also to spend money wisely! To
me, frugality is more about having a happy life, being content with what we
have, along with achievable goals, than running on the hamster wheel keeping
up with what the media likes to sell as a happy life.

I have been a Mommysavers member for about 4 years. A
friend of mine in Germany recommended this site when I was struggling with
being a first time mom and a SAHM. When I need it most I can always find the
comfort, counsel, advice, guidance, support, recipes, encouragement and
motivation from all my MS friends while raising both my sons Zachary and Ty. The
advice and creative suggestions received from some of my friends on this
site have also helped me to be a better wife to my husband. My hobbies
include working out (when I can), scrapbooking (when I am motivated
enough) surfing the web for deals (thanks Mommysavers) and taking care of
and spending time with my family. My forums:

I found Mommysavers through a yahoo frugality group and have been hooked
every since. I love it because I find awesome money saving tips. Along
with great advice and tips from the members. I've made and met several
friends through Mommysavers! I'm a coupon freak! My best tip is
the one we all know but don't usually follow... make a list and stick to
it! Don't go shopping hungry.

in Southern Minnesota where I am working full time at a day center for
developmentally disabled adults. I also work part time as a CNA at a nursing

I have been visiting Mommysavers for more than 4 years now. My husband heard
about the site on a local news cast and suggested I check it out. Little did
he know how much it would become a part of my life!!! I love sharing money
saving ideas and getting wonderful advice on anything imaginable!

opened my eyes to all the ways that I was careless with my money. With 3
children (Carson, 7; Parker, 6; and Wyndser, 3) I needed all the help I
could get with being frugal and making our money stretch as far as possible.
My husband is a warehouse manager for a local beer distributor and I'm a 7th
grade English teacher, and we love the tips we get on Mommysavers on ways to
cut expenses. I've been active on the board for about 5 years, and it has
helped changed my mindset about money. I discovered that I have control over
it instead of it controlling me. My favorite saving tip is to buy off-season
clearances and tuck things away for the next year, as well as for future
gifts. My hobbies and interests include traveling, scrapbooking, crafts,
bargain hunting, and Grey's Anatomy. My forum:

My name is Kelli and I'm SAHM in southern MN. I
share our farm life with my DH and 4 girls. If you
don't find me paper crafting or hanging with my kids,
you will find me in the garden or kitchen cooking &
canning. My sister in law turned me onto Mommysavers
about 4 yrs ago and I quickly became addicted
to the wonderful ideas on how to stretch a dollar (not
to mention the great recipes & awesome ladies). My best
money saving tip... "Shopping clearance is great, but
not unless what you are buying has a purpose. Don't buy
just for the sake of getting "a great deal". My

very much! In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking, and internet surfing -
although most of my internet time is spent right here at Mommysavers! I
joined MS back in March 2007, and have been hooked ever since! All the great
money-saving and simple living tips that our members share here couldn't be
more appreciated, as are the wonderful recipes and thoughtful advice.
The best money-saving/frugal advice that I could give to anyone would be to
take advantage of what money-saving coupons are out there for what name
brand products you already buy!!...To "Reuse, Reduce, Recycle & Repurpose"
everything you can!! (Because not only will you help lessen your footprint
on the Earth - but you will save money at the same time!!)...and...To at
least TRY homemade cleaners!! Much cheaper than store-bought, just as
effective, and better for the environment too! My forums: Couponing,

to Mommysavers since April of 2002, about 2 weeks before I became a SAHM and
it's been a lifesaver for me. There's great PRACTICAL information about
keeping my budget afloat, kids happy, and support for me....not to mention
some FABULOUS recipes and oodles of great friends. In my (almost nonexistent)

first found Mommysavers while searching the web for ideas to become a
stay-at-home mom. I found so many great ideas on how to save and survive on

many nice, funny and smart friends here at Mommysavers that I enjoy taking

I'm Melinda from Northern Idaho. I'm a
stay-at-home-mom to Liliana (4 years) and Logan (4 months) and wife to
David. I enjoy reading, writing, crafts (winter months) and gardening
(summer months), right now I am teaching myself to knit.
I came to Mommy Savers back a few months when I was searching around on the
internet looking for money saving tips. New to online communities I have
really enjoyed this chance to discuss children, husbands, in-laws, money,
politics, the environment, and just about whatever else you can imagine. Now
days when I'm online my husband no longer asks me what I'm looking at -- he
asks what is going on at Mommy Savers!

My name is Melissa, I live in Connecticut with my dh of 10
years and my 3 kiddos. I work full time as a cook in a nursing home, but I'm
looking for something else so I can quit and be home more for my kids. My Dh
works for Nielsen Ratings, the company the counts the people watching tv,
and what shows they are watching. I'm extremely busy ATM with my kids and
all their activities, I'm enjoying myself a TON right now coaching one of my
daughters in her cheer team.
I have kind of a unique story on how I found Mommysavers. I started with one
of those 'stay at home and make money' companies and was gonna give it my
best try. One of their ways to 'recruit' people was just to go to busy
message boards and 'spam', see if you get any bites. They gave me this HUGE
list of places to go to spam my website and Mommysavers was on that list. I
came here to start spamming and started reading a few threads. I was hooked
right away!! I just couldn't spam because I felt bad about doing that to
these people that were JUST LIKE ME. I posted right away and haven't
stopped. However, I am no longer with that stay at home company either. LOL
You know that saying, if its too good to be true......it probably is. LOL
I would say that everything worth having is worth waiting for. We have been
struggling with debt for about 5 years now, ever since we bought our house
and started having kids. As HARD as it is, and how much we struggle, I don't
think I would change things. We learned a lot about ourselves, our marriage,
and how to moderate ourselves so we don't fall into this trap again. We are
finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel and are looking
toward the light. But it doesn't happen overnight, there are no quick fixes.
That's why I LOVE Mommysavers so much. I have learned so much from so many
people people here and that I have much to be thankful for. I appreciate
every single person that takes the time to share their story and advice here
with us.

We live in Ohio. I am a WAHM who runs a small daycare for some extra
money. I love hanging out with my family and am a soccer mom
every Saturday morning for the majority of the year! I also enjoy
watching TV and movies maybe a little too much. I found Mommysavers when
my oldest was just a baby, but I was a lurker and never joined the
message boards until 2006 looking back I have no idea why I waited so
long. I found the site while looking on how to make my own baby wipes.
My favorite money saving tips are cutting coupons and
planning your menu in advance around sales. I have learned much more
than that here at MS and I have also met some great friends. My

probably found it by searching for frugal tips. I love cooking and

I am 31 years old with a Stepford husband (he's not
perfect, but is pretty darn close) and one DD who is 3. I have been
coming to Mommysavers for about 3 1/2 years. I stumbled onto this site
when I was searching for somewhere to barter for children's items.
At first I only came to the bartering board but then I
found myself lurking in the other sections as well. I started posting
and the rest is history. I have thoroughly enjoyed this board and all
the members and will probably be here for a long time to come. This
board is truly a treasure trove of great tips, recipes, ideas, and
support.
My best money saving tip is to live at or below your
