Summer entertainment and free prizes! Sign your kids up for summer reading programs at Barnes & Noble, Pottery Barn, H.E.B., Chuck-E-Cheese, HalfPrice Books, or TD Bank and they can earn free books and other prizes.  Details and links to 11 2012 summer reading rewards programs are below.

• 2012 Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program: Read 8 Books, Get 1 Free!  Grades 1-6. Ends 9/4/2012.

• Scholastic 2012 Summer Challenge: Kids sign up and log their minutes for a chance to win prizes.

• 2012 Pizza Hut Book It! Summer Break Reading Challenge:  Grades K-6 can read 5 books and enter to win a Diary of a Wimpy Kid prize page.   Ends 8/15/2012.

• 2012 TD Bank Summer Reading Program: Read 10 books and receive $10 deposited into your account.  Ends 9/29/2012.

• 2012 Half-Price Books Feed Your Brain Summer Reading Program: Read 300 minutes and receive $5 Back-to-School Bucks summer reading reward, each month.  Kids under 14 can participate. June reading logs due July 8. July reading logs due August 5.

• 2012 Chuck-E-Cheese Rewards Promotion: This program is not just for reading.  Bring in a 2 weeks completed rewards calendar and your child will receive 10 free tokens.  Food purchase is required.  Ends 12/31/2012.

• H.E.B. HEBuddy Program: The Summer Reading Program sign-up sheet says 2011 in the fine print, but appears to still be valid.  Read 10 books and mail in your form.  You’ll receive a free t-shirt in the mail. Postmark by 10/1/2012.

• Book Adventure: Kids can earn various prizes from Book Adventure sponsors by tracking their reading points and taking quizzes.

• Pottery Barn: Read all the books on one of the Pottery Barn reading lists, and get a free book in store. Ends 8/22/12.

• PBS Kids: Join the Summer Reading Community Challenge for chances to win prizes and more.

• Don’t forget your local library! Nearly every library offers incentives for summer reading and fun activities to occupy your kids during the summer.
