i feed my kid healthy fruits & veggies thats in season so its cheaper, i like to shop for it a farmers markets, strawberries and corn on the cob are favories!
I try to go to the farmers market as much as possible as well as growing our own. My sons favorite veggie by far is cucumbers so we always keep a few in the house.
No Sugar water-ice – perfect in the summer – they feel like it is such a big treat and right now on Sale at shoprite for .99 and I have .50 coupons so getting it for free. Or I have now started to have a bowl in the middle of the table with fresh fruit from the farmers market (cheaper than the grocery store) and they just pick at it. Would rather they fill up on that!!!!
I just signed up for the deal alert emails too!!! YES!
I use coupons as often as possible, I shop at Kroger/Publix, any BOGOS w/ coupons, granola bars, bananas and yogurt. I also to to buy from local famers markets when I can. We eat alot of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially in the sumer.
I stock up when items go on sale. This week, for instance, English muffins were $1 so I bought 8 packs and put them into the freezer. These are great for making lunchtime pizzas with veggie toppings. Thanks for a great giveaway!
I am very lucky – my boys like fruits and veggies, much more than meat or sugary stuff. I always use my coupons & plan meals, and am able to get produce at a good cost. We visit farmer’s markets and the local organic grocery store, where I let them pick out celery, carrots & radishes.
I always look for best deals and use coupons
I try to shop around and find coupons and Buy one get ones or buy in bulk and freeze the things I can. And things I can find on clearance. But I can’t remember the best deal But I can find free or cheap things off and on all the time when I try and need too.

well I don’t have kids but I have a niece and we try to eat lots of fruits (which are nana’s favorite) I shop at Giant Eagle but do a lot of my shopping at Costco. I think more times than not Costco has better fruit/veg prices that the grocery store. Since I also take care of my aging mother we seem to be able to use the quantity up pretty fast. My niece loves blackberries when they are in season and at 4 years old she is a pretty good berry picker! Can’t beat the price of free – either.
I always give my kids fresh fruit or cheese and crackers for a snack. I also bake my own cookies and cake and sneek in some vegies such as squash or carrots into it.

Snacks are fresh fruit or Gerber snacks I buy on sale and/or with a coupon. I shop at Target, Stop and Shop, CVS, and Walgreens for the most part. I tend to do the best couponing at Walgreens.
We buy in season, or low cost fruit for my daughter.

I keep lots of fresh fruit, granola bars around. I do alot of shopping at Aldi. I cannot beat the prices there much of the time.
How do you feed your kids healthy snacks on a budget? She picks from the garden during the season and
sits right there munching away!!
Where do you shop, what are the best buys, and what do your kids like best?
Stop and Shop, sales and coupon use, she loves broccoli (Im so lucky), yogurts and apples.
I love to buy fruits and veggies from local organic farmers and their produce stands. My daughters eat of ton of fruit, yogurt and string cheese. They always have something healthy to snack on which I can afford by not buying a bunch of overpriced processed food. My local paper offers a coupon database online so I no longer have to subscribe to get the week’s coupon inserts. (Raleigh News and Observer)
We buy fruit when it’s in season and they’re allowed to have fruit pretty much whenever they want(within reason!). Keeps them filled up so they don’t need the more sugary junk food.
We like to eat fruit that is in season. I usually check out prices at Aldi, Kroger and Walmart and stock up at the one that has the best deal for the week. I also stock up on Yogurt when I have a coupon and there is a sale, so it will last us a few weeks until the next good sale.
