All the little things matter!

I save money with all the little things that I do.  I have been making my own laundry soap for a few years now, and it has been the greatest daily household savings for my family.   I am paying approximently $1.54 per gallon of laundry soap and 15 minutes of time, to make my own. Compared to name brand at around $11.99 a gallon that is a huge savings. I saved $41.80 per homemade batch of Laundry soap. We hang dry our clothes to dry instead of using the dryer when the weather permits and wash in cold water to keep the electric bill down.  We make our own cleaning products for our home out of Amonia, dish soap, and rubbing alcohol.   I also pack my own lunch when I head off to work along with refillable bottles of water to drink, instead of buying soda.  I use coupons as much as I can and we buy store brand instead of name brand mostly.  We cook from scratch, instead of buying pre-made, processed food and spend family time playing games and watching movies instead of spending money to go outside of the home for entertainment.  We keep our clothing cost down by having clothing swaps within our family, (sisters, neices, daughters), and we shop at thrift stores, garage sales and Goodwill.  For the holiday's we keep our cost way down with exchanging homemade gifts.  All of these little things that we do saves our household a lot of money.
