Couponing-A Family Sport
Describe 'Couponing-A Family Sport' here- I recently decided to become a stay at home mom after 9 yrs of my nursing career. I love every minute of it, but have had to learned saving money daily will allow me to continue staying home with the kids for as long as I want to. So, I coupon like crazy, love online coupons-using all sorts of savings sites with daily emails to make sure I don't miss a deal, price match ads weekly at the local Wal-mart, plan dinners around what is on sale, and created a stockpile for all household supplies and freezer foods, etc. All this takes work though and I wanted to make sure it did not take away from my time with my family, so I decided saving money and learning the value of a dollar is a "family sport". My kids are 1 1/2yrs, 6yrs, and 9yrs and they help me weekly with couponing, including cutting them out, looking through the local ad for price matches and organizing my stockpile. We joke about it, but we have a great time saving money and spending time together doing it. The kids think it is awesome to get something for almost FREE at the store. In a nutshell, I am trying to say everyone can make time for saving money and it doesn't have to be work, it can be fun!
