Save money by having a pantry
Describe 'Save money by having a pantry' here
Stockpiling is a great way to save money. Set aside money each month to buy extra items that go on sale. Stores typically cycle sales every 3 months. In theory you never have to pay full price for items. I have never paid full price for my daughter's favorite instant flavored oatmeal because I stock up when it goes on sale for $.99 a box. Condiments will always go on sale twice a year during Super Bowl sales and again during 4th of July sales. Stock up on your favorite brand of ketchup at those times to last you throughout the year. Take advantage of sale prices on meat during these times as well and stock up your freezer. Be on the look out for coupons to combine with sale prices for extra savings. You can not only find coupons in the Sunday paper, but online, on packaging, and it doesn't hurt to call the product's 1-800 number and ask if they will send you a coupon. Save money on gas when you are shopping sales because some store price match. Walmart and Fareway will price match a competitor's price if you just show the cashier the ad. Target will do this as well, but you may have to go to customer service. Another frugal way to add to your pantry is to plant a garden and can extra produce. If you don't plant a garden ask friends or coworkers who do if they have extra produce if you could have it. Don't forget to have a stockpile of other items like deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. Combine coupons with sale prices and stock up on those items as well. Many times you can get these items free when combining coupons and Extra Care Bucks at CVS or with Register Rewards at Walgreens. You can make room for a pantry in your basement, closets, or even under beds. It takes awhile to build up a nice sized pantry that will last you through the months until the next sale, but it is well worth it in the end. You will always have a sense of security with a well stocked pantry. When money is tight you will always have food available to feed your family. Also during times of bad weather you will have food available as well.
