Saving on Date Night

I am a firm believer in date nights with my husband. With two kids at home, it is crucial to get time away to reconnect with your spouse. However, our budget doesn't always allow for dinners out at lavish restaurants. We live in wine country and there are a lot of pricey options. I am by nature a saver and am always looking for fun on the cheap!

-We never pay for a babysitter. The grandparents live nearby, and they are kind enough to sit. Also, my DD has just turned 13 and can now watch her brother. We invested in a babysitter training course for her through the Girl Scouts.

-We have a cheap movie theater! All seats are $3, all the time! Movies are recent. Considering the regular movie theater charges $10, that's a savings of $14.

-We go walking or thrift storing.

-We go to restaurants with a counter rather than a regular waiter. Every little bit helps.

-We check out free deals for Veterans. This last November we stayed free in a beautiful bed and breakfast and enjoyed free lunch afterwards.

Happy dating everyone!
