Bright Starts Rattle and Shake Barbell Rattle

Great, Simple Rattle for CHEAP

swishina
This is the best, simple rattle for babies.  The two bars make it easy to grasp, and it makes the perfect rattle sound when baby shakes it. Not so noisy that it's annoying or disruptive, but enough to encourage more movement.  The compact size means this is the toy that gets stuck in my purse.     This rattle is just a couple dollars at Walmart, and it's worth adding...

Manhattan Toy Skwish Classic

Manhattan Toy Skwish Classic

“ The Skwish toy is great for all ages of infants and toddlers.  Starting at age 3 months, my youngest has been able to hold the toy well and bring it to her mouth to chew on.  The stretchy elastic strings are easy to grasp and hold on to, and the round wooden ends are easy to suck and chew on.  It is really lightweight, so she can lift it easily.  The sliding balls make a...” --swishina

Chicco Animal Cottage

Chicco Animal Cottage

“ I found this toy at Ross and bought it for my daughter who was 2 1/2 at the time.  It's a really cool shape sorter!    There are 6 compartments and each have a different colored door.  You have to match the door with the key of the same color.  Then you open the door and out pops an animal and a shape that is the same color as the key,  Then you use the key...” --Annie's Mom

Disney Princess Enchanted Musical Vanity

Disney Princess Enchanted Musical Vanity

“ I bought this vanity when it was on clearance at Target.  I just gave it to my 6 year old for her birthday and she LOVES it.  My 3 year old loves it too.  It's pretty sturdy and pretty well made.  The musical aspect is really great because it's a double-duty type of toy.  Plus the pretend "beauty accessories" are also little instruments, which I thought was clever....” --Annie's Mom

Disney Pixar's Cars Micro Drifters Rapid-Fire Dispenser

Disney Pixar's Cars Micro Drifters Rapid-Fire Dispenser

“ I hate to say this, but this toy is awful.  The idea is fun - it looks fun, it sounds fun.  But it doesn't work!  To get the cars in the dispenser, you have to pry the top open (much too difficult for a young child) and the entire cover almost always pops off.  The cars just jumble around inside. We found it much easier to shove the cars in at the bottom.  To launch...” --swishina

MGA Lalaloopsy Silly Hair - Mittens Fluff n Stuff

MGA Lalaloopsy Silly Hair - Mittens Fluff n Stuff

“ My 5 year old has this dolls and LOVES it.  I personally think some of the Lalaloopsy dolls are kind of creepy looking.  However if you have a little girl like mine who is totally into these dolls, this is a pretty good buy.  The other dolls don't do anything.  With this one you can at least style the hair and you can get hours of entertainment out of it.   The...” --Annie's Mom

Befudiom Board Game

Befudiom Board Game

“ Befudiom is another fun word game based on idioms that don't make sense when taken literally.  For example, "It's raining cats and dogs."  Players have to act out the clues in several ways:  writing, acting, etc. It's kind of charades meets Pictionary, with a twist of Apples to Apples (all games our family enjoys).     I would definitely recommend this for older...” --Kim

LEGO Friends Advent Calendar 3316

LEGO Friends Advent Calendar 3316

“ As long as you accept that this isn't a good value, even as far as Lego sets go, then the Lego Friends advent calendar is awesome. Each day until Christmas, you get to open a new square and build a little figure or toy.   There are NOT a lot of pieces, but the experience is really fun.  We picked this one out as the most "holiday" themed Lego advent calendar for 2012.  There...” --swishina
