Pros: Valuable insights, great communication techniques

Cons: A bit simplistic

I picked up this book at the library after having a few heated arguments with my soon-to-be teenage daughter.    I figured anything that could help me communicate with her and build upon our relationship would be worth my time in reading it.  This book didn't disappoint. While I'm only halfway through it at the moment, I've already gained some great insight into why teens tune parents out, and how to communicate to get the response you're looking for.   It makes perfect sense.

Some may read this and look at the cartoons and say the solutions may be a little simplistic, especially if you've got big behavior problems.  Also, a lot of it is common sense.  However, the advice and take-aways for the average parent are there if you creatively apply them to your own challenges.  I felt like taking notes throughout the whole book.

I will be recommending this book to my friends who are going through the same struggles as I am.

Thank you. I'll look for that one to read this summer. Insights can only help to either help me see things in a way I never had before, or to confirm the way I see things!
