Modern Family: The Complete First Season

When I first saw the previews for this series I thought it looked kind of strange. However after catching an episode or two, I completely fell in love with the characters.  This show replaces the classics like Family Ties and Growing Pains and is much more up to date with today's society and culture. 

The title kind of speaks for itself.  You get to know a family of five with three kids, plus the gay uncles and their adopted Asian baby, as well as the grandfather and his much younger wife and step son. Each of the characters are so individual that it's easy to find someone you can relate to.  It's also fun to watch everyone interact as they take this blended family and somehow make it work. 

Ever wonder how "Modern Family" beat out the top comedy shows for the coveted SAG Award - watch The Complete First Season and you will know. This TV show is a situational comedy that we can all relate to at one time or another.  The show can get a little predictable at times BUT it has more unpredictable plot twists that keeps you laughing and coming back for more.

This quickly has become our favorite must-watch TV shows.  Not only is it laugh-out loud funny, the writing is excellent.   One of the signs of a good sitcom is the complexity and uniqueness of the characters - and this show has them.  It's one of those smart TV shows.  It took us a few episodes to really catch on to really get to know the characters, but now that we do we almost feel like we know them personally.  We love it!
