Baseline Mammogram - I have to go back - Page 2

I just wanted to report that everything has turned out okay. I went back yesterday for more pics. They kept taking pics, showing to the radiologist, and then would call me back to the room to take another pic. Then, they decided to do an ultrasound. They kept focusing on one spot on the side of my breast and I was just thinking for sure they had found something. When they left me for a few minutes to consult the radiologist, I just knew they were going to tell me they found something. Then, the tech came back in and said it was all just normal breast tissue and for me to come back in 6 months. I didn't feel very relieved yesterday. I think I was so sure it was going to be bad news. However, it has sunk in today and I feel so much better about it. A scary process but I'm really glad to know everything is okay. Thanks to everyone who had kind words, thoughts, and prayers!

This has happened to my sister several times, and it's always just a cyst or she has "dense" breast tissue. Next time you go in, you might want to lay off the caffeine for a few days beforehand - no coffee, tea, chocolate, soda. Those make for lumpy breasts, per my ob/gyn.

I am so glad everything is okay. This happened to me too - when I was only 35 - and it is scary!

Glad it all turned out well. I've had two mammograms, both resulting in needle biopsies and you're right, easier said than done.

Maybe you can check around and see if there is a place that offers digital mammograms. Those are supposed to be excellent for dense breast tissue.
