Cool a cake in the fridge?

This may sound really dumb, but can you cool a cake in the refrigerator?

I need to frost it and it isn't cooling fast enough.

I wouldn't because it will get sticky, JMO

Do you have it on a cooling rack? I turn on my ceiling fan in the kitchen and it cools it down quickly.

Yeah...I am just being impatient.

I'll go do some laundry while I wait. Thanks!

I'm probably too late, but YES, you can cool a cake in the fridge or freezer if you cover it right. Many decorators will leave the cake in the pan and cover with one layer wax or parchment paper then two layers of tin foil. You can also take out of the pan and do the same thing. It helps to keep it moist.

I find it is easier to frost when the cake is cold.
