Day One Check In - Page 2

Yay! I'm excited to start FTJ and know that it will be a rewarding journey again this year! Plus, DH and the kids are more involved this year. It's definitely become a family project!

I am excited. We will see how strong we are.

I am excited and nervous. I have to finish our approved spending list, and go grocery shopping. Man our kids being sick put me behind!

I wish Bob lived closer so he could fix ours for us. Unfortunately my dh is not as handy.

"Progress, not perfection!" LOL

Booker, I *heart* your attitude!! I'm getting ready to watch Iowa in the Outback Bowl and I thought I'd grab my notebook and get ready to sit down and hammer out my list of "must needs".

And Oh No! Kim! The microwave! That thing is a definite need around our homestead!

I wish you all the best of luck this go around!

i haven't even had a chance to talk to DH about this yet, but i know he will be on board. he gets just as excited as i do when we save money. my kids will probably be a different story. but i'm going to risk it! they will be fine and we'll have so much more time to spend together if i'm not in the thrift stores all the time. the only thing i need besides necessities (groceries) right now is another indoor dog crate. hopefully by the end of January, we will have gotten homes for all of the puppies except the one we're keeping and that will be a little extra cash too!!

Funny how things we deem necessary weren't even around a couple of generations ago.

Our microwave died in April while we were remodeling our kitchen and getting ready for graduation. Dh talked to the garbage man and he said usually it's only a fuse, thermal coupler (sp) or something lminor and people just throw them in the junk. So dh checked it out and was able to fix it for ONLY $12.00That was wonderful and we didn't have to spend much. We are such a throw away society. Maybe you know someone that is a handyman/fixit kind of guy and it could maybe be fixed. Good Luck

DH and I are going to sit down tonight and work on ours. I already have my "mental" note of what is on the approved spending list.
I'm very excited for this and hope it helps to put us both in the right frame of mind when it comes to spending!
We will sit down and work on this and I will report back tonight!

Ooh... it would be great if that's all it was. Maybe I'll have dh try to investigate a DIY fix-it job.
