Be it you or your dh.

dh has been laid off before so I know what to expect. Also, my job has already had some major changes. The evening shift was eliminated, which I used to work. In order to keep my job I had to switch to day shift. COme summer I could be out of a job since I couldn't afford day care. I'm not worried. I have been there done that and I know I can survive.

We are both in healthcare and have stable jobs. In my case the hospital is making other cuts that are making our job harder but we still have jobs.

Dh is in the military, so this is not something we have to worry about.

Never say never! They are always thinking of ways to "save", "cut costs", which sometimes means cutting bodies.........it's happened many many times.

BUT hopefully your dh is in a rate that is not at risk! My dh is not at risk either. In fact, they could USE the manpower

We are both pretty secure right now.

Already laid off but expected it this year with things bad.He has never been laid off EVER.So all new to us.We were already let know last summer so we got the pantry and freezer stocked and other things. So we are doing good.It is just still a sock when it is the first time it happened. It is so weird too.Dh has worked so many hours our whole marriage from being gone 6-7 winter hours and 6-9 or 10 or 11 in the summer and not seeing each other much to him being here all the time and us spending time with out the kids(in school).it is like we are learning each other all over again and loving it!Not the situation but getting to talk and joke/flirt and so on.So even though it is a rough time we got to connect again and I would never ever say I would change things. Not to say we ever didn't connect or talk anymore just it was always about the kids and talking about what was going on with them with the time we had in a day.

The only way dh would lose his job is if the business went under. He would be the last to go. That is always a possibility in our small town, but is not something we worry about. I would never say never, but know that we would get through it.

Two managers are quitting at my husband's work this week, so if anything, we are in fear of an early promotion. Of course, things can quickly change.
