camping foods - Page 2

Something I remember my dad always making when I was young.  Buy the bologna that is not presliced.  The big tube looking kind.  Slice it think and grill it.(kinda like fried bologna).  And put it on a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, cheese or whatever.

Beans and cornbread.  Buy the really large can of beans and vent it and put next to the coals to slow cook.

This one I haven't tried yet, but I recently saw online and it sounds good.  Take a banana and open one peel and stuff it with mini marshmallows and chocolate chips and a crushed up graham cracker.  Close back up, wrap in foil and heat in the fire.

My SIL and her family camp quite a bit during the spring and summer. When they came to Florida during Spring Break, they made ground beef and seasoned it with taco mix. They used the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls as pockets. They place the beef mixture in the middle of a crescent roll and close it like a pocket. They place the pocket in an iron sandwich maker over the fire and cook the dough. It is easy, quick and delicious!

Oh, that reminds me of one.  Walking tacos.  Heat canned chili in the fire and then spoon into individual bags of doritos.  Top with cheese and onions and eat with a spoon.
