What is your first name? Rena

What are your kids’ names and ages? ds-17, dd-14,dd-12 and dd-4

How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here? It has been so long, I don't remember how I found it. I have probably only shared with one friend, and I don't know if she comes here anymore

What does your user name mean? When I was younger I was goofing around with my friend, and I told her my real name was Penelope. She almost believed me, but my mother doesn't know how to pull off a joke

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?
Hmm....there is so much, but the first thing that pops into my mind is Ryansmom and her inspiring food menus

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? I have been slacking lately. But mainly because I have been trying not to buy much processed food. It is hard to find coupons for whole food. I used to use about 20 coupons each trip. Now maybe one or two.

What was your most recent "bargain"? 1.79 milk at Aldi

What have you done to save money this week? Hmm...cooking from the cupboard, I guess. Making it stretch.

What do you consider a way of life that others think is a crazy way to save? Living in a 3 bedroom trailer with 4 kids. It cuts our bills almost in half.

What is your favorite store in which to find bargains? Aldi, TJMaxx, Meijer, Target and thrift stores.

What is the best deal you ever found (even if it wasn’t at your favorite store)? A room at the downtown Minneapolis Hyatt for 45 dollars a night.

What is your best money saving tip? Aldi has a list of almost everything in there store, with the price next to it. When it is time to go grocery shopping, I take my Meijer add, write down on a piece of paper in a column all the items that are on sale at a good deal. Then I make another column for Aldi and use their list to see if I can get it cheaper there. Or I can just take the Aldi list to Meijer with me, and if it is cheaper at Meijer, I get it there, and buy everything else on my list at Aldi. The stores are pretty close, so I am not wasting much gas.

What is your favorite frugal meal? I don't make this often, because my husband doesn't like it much. But my mom made it a lot when I was a kid. Brown a pound of hamburger and add a can of baked beans. I like to add garlic powder to it too.

Do you enter contests? If so, what is the best prize you’ve ever won? Yes I do enter contests. Offhand the only thing I remember winning is that Right at Home Package.

If money were no object, what 3 things would you buy yourself or your family? A Wii game system. a house, and a brand new minivan.

If you had $10 to spend on yourself (you and you alone) what would you buy? Makeup

Are there words you live by? What are they? OK, I know it may sound corny, but the only thing that comes to my mind is What Would Jesus Do. I don't always remember that, but life would be so much easier if I did.

Sum yourself up in 1 word: Corny. Heehee.

That's not corny at all. Even those of us who aren't Christian recognize that the carpenter-rabbi had some good ideas about how people should treat each other.

This was a great idea:

Thanks for sharing Penelope. It's been great getting to know you better, even after all these years!
