Who's on Board? Please introduce yourselves! - Page 6

I'm in! I did the January Forget the Jones Project and I cannot believe how many things gave changed as a result! For the first time in five years we payed off our credit cards with our tax refund and have not used them since! We always payed off or tried to pay off the cc in the past but always ended up using them again. I am determined not to do that again. Since I did the FTJ Project this year I have spent less on groceries but have more in my pantry than ever before, I really looked at where our money went and learned a lot of waste was going on. We now have an awesome financial planner, an emergency fund and a good start on a long terms savings, a 401K( not great right now, but whose is?), and a plan to eventually pay off our house. This was an incredible life changing thing for us! I have changed my way of thinking, but it still is hard at times not to spend like my friends do, especially with the summer getting in full swing now. I cannot wait to get excited again about everything the first FTJ Project taught me. This is just the encouragement I need! I needed to get re-energized about being smart with money.

I'm glad you're back on board, Kimberly! I always enjoyed reading your posts during the last two rounds.

It's nice to see so many new faces too!

Stay tuned, I may give you a sneak peak of the first step tomorrow.

I would like to do this with you ladies. I haven't done the FTJ project before. I have wanted to, but it wasn't the right timing. We will be on vacation from the 13th - 18th, but I will start after that. We need to build our savings back up and I want to comfortably pay for my special needs son's school. I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you,
Cindy

I would like to join again! I did the FTJ in January and it was a great help. I need to get back on the budget track, and I would like to work on some other goals as well. I am a SAHM of 5 year old twins.

I am Patti and I am a SAHM to one DS aged 6. I have been wanting to do this for a while. Tried to do this once before but got quickly off track. Thankfully we don't have a lot of debt just our mortage but I would love to add to our savings and see a few projects finished around our house. We have had a lot of unexpected things in the past few months - taking a huge dent out of our emergency fund. Looking forward to the spending freeze but at the same time I am trying to stock up on some things since DS will be home all summer - I will pick up some things tomorrow and then I will try and hold off until after the spending freeze.

I'm new to this site and have never done FTJ but I would like to give it a try. We've had to make a lot of changes this year. Due to the economy, my husband's business has really suffered so I am really living on a budget. So count me in! Noelle

Hi! I'm Jackie and joined in January, but have never posted before. Last September I left my job to become a SAHM, but it's been difficult to transition to one salary. I am really exicted to try FTJ and see what kind of an impact it will have on our spending, as we certainly need to save more!

Ok, im new. Im a Christian homeschool mom of 3, and am always looking for ways to be more frugal. We had gotten our cc paid off, and then ended up putting more on them this year. Can you tell me a little more about FJSBC? What are some examples of the assignments? What if my dh doesnt want to do anything himself as part of this? If he has his own little bit, can i just do my part without him having to activley participate? I dont mean he will spend money or use the cc, but he will probably not be to into a challenge from mommy savers, lol.

But i want into this challenge, so count me in! Sounds good, what are the goals of this challenge?

I admit it I am horrible with financial matters. I keep getting myself in deeper credit card trouble. Hubby is furious with me.
