Can I freeze Shredded BBQ Chicken?

We had BBQ chicken breasts yesterday for dinner so I shredded the left overs and put it in a crock pot with more chicken and bbq sauce so it would be enough for everyone for dinner tonight or tomorrow.

So if I have left overs can I freeze them? Any special preperation that I need to do in order to freeze them? What about cooking them after they've been frozen?

I don't see why you can' t freeze them as long as they've been cooked. As far as reheating, I'd thaw them in the fridge and just reheat.

ditto. just throw it in a freezer bag, label it & freeze it. Heat it up when you want to eat it.

I do this often. Shredded pork, chicken, beef, etc. . . it can all be frozen, thawed and reheated.

I like to freeze that type of leftover pressed very flat in a gallon freezer bag. Then if I need an easy lunch I can just break off a big corner, and thaw it to put in a tortilla or something.

I will have to do this I got a recipe off here a while ago using chicken breast, salsa and taco seasoning and cooking it in a crockpot for I believe 6-8 hours then shredding it and putting it on taco shells. It is awsome. My family likes anything simply and easy like this. It just so happens I am making chicken breast tonight will have to shred the left overs. Thanks for posting this.

Sometimes when Kroger has their rotisserie chicken on sale (and I have a good coupon) I will buy one and take the meat off and shred it, toss it with some BBQ sauce, and throw it in the freezer for those days I just want something quick to heat up (or for a quick dinner that night).
