consider ways to downsize things your kids have a hard time eating....my daughter doesn't like the regular dipping carrots but will pig out on the bagged julienned carrots.

Don't buy the prepackage carrots, celery or broccoli, buy the cheapest way and clean and package them in a cute container along with a small recycled container of dressing.

Instead of juice boxes, get a recycled small juice container, fill half way and freeze and then by the time the kids have lunch it will be thawed out buy still cold.

Make your own trail mix out of assortment of small crackers, something like oyster crackers, pretzels, raisins, chocolate chips, assorted mixed nuts, marshmellows (Whatever is appealing to your kids).

Ritz crackers with peanut butter between two to make a sandwich.

Take a large cookie cutter and cut into their sandwich to take of the crust and give them a unique shaped sandwich.

Send homemade applesauce
cost less than $1.00

1. Slice and core a peeled large apple. Sprinkle slices in a bowl with 1 T brown sugar and cinnamon to taste. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and microwave on high 5 minutes. Remove with oven mitts, and be careful when removing plastic wrap so you don't get a steam burn. Stir. Cover bowl again and microwave on high 5 more minutes. Remove with oven mitts and let stand 15 minutes or till cool. Mash when cooled with ptato masher until it's chunky consistency.
2. Makes about 1 2/3 C and send in smaller reusuable plastic containers.

Don't buy the prepackaged sliced and cubed cheese.

It's cheaper to buy the blocks of cheese and cut it yourself.

Honey mustard dip
(My girls like this one with carrots)
In a bowl mix together 1/2 C mayo 2 T honey and 2 tsp mustard. Mix until smooth. Makes about 2/3 C. Send in smaller reusable plastic containers. Probably costs less than $.50.
