This has never even entered my radar either. Honestly, what kind of risk factor can there possibly be? Even then, those would have to be some seriously funky undies to get anyone sick even after washing.

I doubt Dr. Oz has ever done laundry for a family with kids. Just like when Oprah said on a previous show she likes her sheets washed every day - I bet she doesn't wash them herself! I think I'll take my chances on this one.

White/light undies get washed with other whites/lights. Dark/bright undies get washed with other darks/brights.

Me too! No way am I washing undies separate.

I think Dr. OZ is a crack pot. I wash them with everything else like everyone else on this planet has done for many many many years and we all didn't get the plague from some panties.

Ya know, I wonder if stuff like this is making us more sick. My parents never would have given underwear a seperate wash... yet it seems that we have more super bugs now then ever. And this is coming from a germaphobe! LOL

Exactly!

OK , if you are washing your underwear separately to keep the germs away from clothes , you better be disinfecting your washer between undies and other loads of clothes. Otherwise the germs are in the washer!!
Another thing , guess what? I also bet a lot of the germs in underwear , has already spread to your pants or even other items in your hamper before you sort the wash.

I think it is all ridiculous how people think they are " escaping germs"
They are everywhere!

This is the way I also wash clothes, whites seperate and the kids clothes are always washed by themselves never mixed in with ours.

Just curious - why do you wash the kids' clothes separately? Does it just make them easier to keep straight what belongs to whom? (When M'ija was a teen, if Himself was sorting or putting away laundry, he couldn't tell M'ija's underwear from mine).
