Tuna Fish: chunk Light or Solid White?

Do you prefer the chunk light tuna or Solid white when you buy Tuna fish?? We prefer the solid white here, but its always way more expensive than the chunk light. I will usually wait for it to go on sale, then I'll buy my limit.

The only things I do with canned tuna are tuna salad and tuna casserole. Once it's mixed with all the other ingredients, I can't taste any difference between the chunk light and the white albacore, so I buy the much cheaper chunk light.

As long as it is packed in water and NOT oil, I do not care. I just grab whatever is on sale. I agree with Phoenyx, once it's mixed up, I cant tell the difference.

I'm a registered dietitian. The light tuna has less mercury than white and is, therefore, healthier. : )

My understanding also is that the light tuna has less mercury, thus better for you. I have not bought the solid white since I learned that.

I always go for the light in water!

I usually get the light in water, although I have gotten it in olive oil before. Just no vegetable oil.
