Holiday Crafts with Kids

Try to fit in one holiday craft project with your kids this weekend. It could be making a gingerbread house, ornaments, red and green play-dough, or paper chains for the tree. It doesn’t have to be complicated -- the point is that you’re spending quality time together and getting into the holiday spirit. (Download some free holiday .mp3s to get into the swing of things!)

Really that's today's assignment. I must have been predicting it as today we had Bethy's friends over to make ornaments. We plan to do baking next week.

We have done lots of fun crafts. we did graham cracker houses, foam gingerbread houses, decorated with holiday stickers, wrapped gifts together, made sticker nativity scenes and made wrapping paper by coloring holiday scenes.

You must have read my mind, too! We're doing easy peel & stick santa ornaments and making sugar cookies! That and wrapping the rest of the gifts, returning a few to get us back closer to budget, and catching up on the cleaning!

I am a Girl Scout leader so we do all the Christmas crafts at meetings. We may pull out a gingerbread house kit tomorrow - found one on great clearance because the box had a rip but all the insides were fine.

We did some Santa ornament crafts this week when school was cancelled due to weather.

ok-sugar cookies done & decorated (although forgot the egg due to trying to contain a 3 y.o. w/ cookie cutters and flour!), chocolate chip cookies done, Santa ornaments didn't turn out great, but we had fun with the glue! Finally, sun catchers tonight for my son to give his grandparents. It's been a crafty, fun, and memorable weekend!

We made cards for their teachers today. The little guys asked for 'craft lessons.' They crack me up. I started them on chipboard albums. They have star chipboard books. They got the stars traced, cut out and started to decorate the book.

I love that they love to craft!

Next weekend: baking!
