I'm the creator of Mommysavers.com as well as the Forget the Joneses Project. The concept of "Forget the Joneses" came to me a few years ago. I'd recently had many discussions with friends (in my real life and here online) about how so many of our peers are driven by keeping up with the proverbial Joneses (whoever the Joneses may be to them). Then, one day at the grocery store, I saw someone wearing a tee-shirt with the saying "Forget About the Joneses" on it. All the way home, I thought about how to really help others make that happen. Shortly after that, our first Mommysavers.com "Forget the Joneses" project stared.
I started Mommysavers 10 years ago as a way to share my frugal tips and bargain finds with other thrifty parents. But to me, there's more to frugality than pinching pennies. It's about putting your money where your priorities are, fulfilling your dreams, and making the most of your time. This project is designed with that in mind. It's my hope that all of you will get something out of this project and realize that you don't need a lot of money to lead a FANTATSTIC life.
