Are you doing laundry today? Take this challenge!

Are you doing laundry today? Try using half the amount of laundry detergent recommended and see if your clothes still get clean. Then, come back here and report in! Just think, if you use half the amount you usually do, you'll be cutting your detergent expense in half!

I only use a tablespoon of Charlie's soap!

I've been doing this for a while now ... I see no difference in the cleanliness of my clothes. I just don't spend as much on detergent anymore!

I am doing laundry today, and I will accept this challenge!

I typically use a FULL cup, regardless of the load size. So, if there is a difference, I will definitely be able to tell.

I'll let you know.

I never use the recommended amount and they're always just as clean as they would be otherwise. I have had the same thing of detergent (one of the bigger ones) since august i believe

I only use 1 TBS at most of detergent and my clothes get just as clean. We have soft water and a front load machine. We buy the big size from Costco and it lasts forever!

I have been doing this for years. Along with cold washes only (except whites and towels) The only difference I have noticed is my colors don't seem to fade as much~ BONUS!

I have always used very little laundry soap and I haven't noticed a difference Sometimes though I add more to my dh's work clothes since they get really nasty!

So you guys really use a TBS of liquid in a large load of clothes and there is no difference? Really?!?!

This is exciting! I buy a lot of detergent. Oh, I can't wait to see if this works for us.

I always do this. Try taking it a step further and making your own!
I make my own powder laundry detergent by mixing bar soap, borax and washing soda. all the ingredients are super cheap. the ratio i use is 1 bar soap; 1/2 c washing soda; 1/2 c borax. i mix a big batch in my last bulk store bucket of powder detergent, and I use about 2T of this per full load in cold water. i only use the dryer for jeans and heavy hoodies, jackets, blankets, etc... and if we get backed up on laundry ( in only have space to hang 1 load to dry inside) . otherwise i hang it all.
