DS has to go to a Military Ball Saturday Night But I will be home with my Netflix movies. I intend to stay away from all stores!! Plan to do some cleaning Saturday. Sunday do more organizing and play card games with DS, if in need of other entertainment will look to Netflix online movie streaming or get free rentals thru Redbox.

Things are going well for my spending freeze/FTJ - have stayed out of stores, focused on using up food from the pantry/freezer. Got Dave Ramsey's book from the library, so I'm getting inspired... BUT, DH is in a different mindset at the moment than me. He's always been the one who tries to budget, write everything down etc... but now that I have come around, he seems to have given up!!!!
I brought out our January Spending Log and noticed he hadn't written anything on it (and I know he's paid bills etc...) and he said, "What's the point? We are several thousand dollars OVER budget EVERY month! Why bother keeping track of THAT???"
This is a big shift in his attitude... he has given up. I noticed he was writing a letter to our lender about adjusting our mortgage. In it, he tells them if it can't be adjusted, we are walking away or doing a short sale. The same model home as ours just sold in our neighborhood for LESS THAN HALF of what we paid for it in 2005. I think he has finally just given up hope that we can hang onto the house... he worked so hard since he got his first job out of college to have "perfect" credit, and now he's ready to throw it all away. It makes me feel like any efforts I make are pointless too.
Sad day.

Wow! You really are going through a rough time. My heart goes out to you!
I hope your lender comes around and you can readjust your mortgage. Are there any other drastic steps you can take to reduce your monthly expenses? Can you trade in cars for cheaper models? What other expenses can you eliminate? We'll be taking a closer look at this in the next two weeks of our spending freeze. Are there ways you can increase your income? Can dh get a second job? Are you working? If not, can you get a job?

We did great up until yesterday
We're still going to stay on the freeze but here is what happened ... I was up from 3am yesterday morning until I went to bed lastnight around 10:30pm. So I was exhausted. I put beans and ham hocks in the crockpot at 11am...and made some cornbread in the bread machine. My dh called me on his way home from work and while on the phone with him I checked the dinner in the crock pot and the beans still needed 2 more hours and the cornbread that was made in the bread machine was sooo salty and gross..first time trying that recipe..
So there went my dinner...so I threw some ground turkey in the mic to thaw and tried to rack my brain for what to make quickly when my baby wakes up screaming and needing me..the older two were arguing and my dh heard it all and said let me help..I'll pick up dinner...and immed. my gut sank and I felt UTTERLY guilty..after 15 min of contemplating and finally I gave in from being overwhelmed. We spent $14 for our family of 5 and I didn't even ENJOY the food..and I had icky feeling the rest of the night. Woke up this morning and my mood is SOUR!! All because of that...so now I'm going to get back on track and relax over the $14 and hope that it doesn't turn into another $14 here and another $14 there...
There you have it. A rough day yesterday.

We have done great I spent $45 bucks for groceries last week and will only need milk, bread and some apples to get me thru until the 21rst. I have my stuff ready to take to the consignment store so that should actually bring in some cash. So far so good it helps i'm sick and don't want to go anywhere.
