Girl Scout Cookie Credit

I know not all councils do this but check it out if your dd is a Girl Scout. For every 25 boxes they sell they get $5.00 they can spend at the office or on camp. We have $35 dollars left over from last year, plus what they will earn this year. All of it will go towards daycamps for the girls. Last year my oldest went for next to nothing.

HOLY COW, we have to sell 50 boxes for $5 in cookie credits, totally not fair.

I agree, that is not fair. I don't understand why they don't have universal rules for such things for the whole country.

Yes, cookie sales start this week for us and DD has her eye on 1000 boxes. The cookie 'dough' goes toward away camp. Last year DD said I should put all the money on her camp account so she could buy things at the camp store -

ahhhh the days of selling GS cookies. 20 years of digging thru hundreds of boxes of cookies in the back of the van in the freezing cold delivering cookies to people who were never home when you dropped by.

no matter how hard we sold, my sister and i could never match this other girl who got top cookie sales every year. except she never sold a single box on her own -- her mom & dad took the forms to work and sold them for her. That REALLY tripped our trigger! And she never went to camp or bought anything from the GS store (she was too cool for everything..). I think I have some buried issues...

My daughter is a 1st year Daisy..so this is my first experience with selling the cookies.

I was wondering what the deal was with the cookie dough.

that would be nice if we had that. we sold 105 boxes for her troop. i know the troop does get some money for activities.

Our troop gets $0.50 per box sold. Individual girls can select prizes - 50 is a water bottle - or cookie dough ($5). I love to sit thru the training sessions and hear that adults don't sell cookies - girls do. Yeah, right. The girls sell some but the parents sell a lot of them too. Our troop is doing a fun overnight with our money.
