Walmart vs. Kroger

Does the grocery store you shop at really have the best deals? I've been wondering this for a while and decided to put it to the test.

I took last week's grocery list - everything I had purchased at Walmart - to Target and Smith's (a Kroger store) to see how they compared. Walmart did come in as the least expensive, as I anticipated. Target was not only most expensive, but they didn't have as many items on sale, and the sale prices weren't as good.

When recording the prices, I thought Smith's might win. A lot of the items on my list were on sale at Smith's for really cheap. However, the items that weren't on sale were expensive enough to make up the difference. I guess Walmart really does have everyday low prices.

Also, I saved $.55 on the lunchmeat and $1 on the yo plus.

I like walmart, because they will price match.

Even their brand of products, against Kroger brand

I did it yesterday.

Got walmart milk for $2.68 which is what krogers had it for.

I also got walmart cream cheese for $1.00 the same thing that krogers had their brand for.

Just take the kroger (or whatever store) ad and they will match it.

It has to be advertised in the circular though, doesn't it?

Great post, Swishina!

This IS a great post.

BUT, the best part is that precious little face peeking up behind the counter in the pic.
