On the first day of school do you drop them off or do you walk them in?

For the first day our kids have to line up at their previous grades door go to last years classroom and then be escorted by their "new teacher" the process takes forever, I am sure I will stay with my first grader until its his turn to enter. Most likely my 4th grader will give a quick wave and run off as we cross the street to the school!

I walk my preschooler in every day.

For my dd7, I will drop her off. Her teacher looped so she will have very little adjustment. She will have the same kids and everything!

I have always walked mine in for the first day, until they got to middle school that is.

My youngest, I walked in almost every day of kindergarten. ONE DAY or maybe two she was 'dropped' off and walked down the campus without me

I walk them up and help them greet their friends and teachers and take pictures.

they walk themselves. they would be mortified if i had to walk them to school!( both teens).

when they were younger i walked them and waited until they went in everyday as i had younger ones to watch and some went to their school too.( i just stayed at the primary end and they did their own thing).

i miss walking them to school.

I will derop off my 7th grader, my senior will drive herself. The other three go to school where I work, so we will all walk in together. They already know all the staff there so it is not an issue.

My youngest takes the bus, but even if I drove him I wouldn't walk him in. Our school strongly discourages it because it makes the goodbyes for the little kids even harder.

I will walk my kindergartner in and drop my fourth grader off. We have back to school night two days before school starts so they can meet their teachers, find their classroom and take their school supplies. It makes it easier on them instead of going in the first day and not knowing anything.

Yes, parents are not supposed to actually walk all the way to classroom in our school either....I don't think its a bad rule!
