When do you think kids are too old to have boy/girl sleepovers?

When do you think kids are too old to have boy/girl sleepovers? My youngest is 6 and she would rather play with the boys in the neighborhood than the girls. She wanted to have a sleepover with one 5 year old boy and her mom said no it wasn't appropriate.

Neither of my kids have ever been to a boy-girl sleepover.

When my DD was in 2nd grade...so DS would have been kindergarten.....she had a sleepover with a zillion girls. They were all going to sleep in sleeping bags in our family room and watch movies. DS wanted to sleep there and watch movies too so we said sure. One of the little girls "flipped out" and threw a fit so we had to take him crying to bed. I couldn't imagine how a kindergarten boy was going to sexually assault a 2nd grade (she was in 1st grade) girl with 15 others in the room....but oh well!

I think it would be different if they were starting to develop, but she is 6.

no boy/girl sleep overs here at any age.

no boy/girl sleep overs here at any age.But I'm not a fan of sleep overs anyway. I remember from my own past nothing good comes from them. I can say a day playing over someones house but why sleepover?

I probably wouldn't do it at all but that's just me

My daughter is almost 12 and has always had more male friends. We have never allowed a sleepover with a male friend. She has slept at our teen sitters house - in the girls room - so she could have a late play date with their brothers who are her age. My 8 year old son had one of his friends spend the night in his sisters room since she was a girl - parents had to go out of town last minute and I was watching her.

We set the rule early so we didn't have to argue about it later.

I would think 5 or 6 is fine, but the more I think about it, I probably wouldn't do it at all. I certainly wouldn't flip out over an invitation though.
