Need lunch box ideas

I have realized that it would save money to pack my son's lunch the majority of the time. He doesn't seem to mind. Anyway, I need ideas outside of the sandwich realm. TIA!

If you check our money saving foods forum, there are a ton of ideas in there. We suggest cereal, leftover pasta, salads, and stuff like that. It was our challenge for Sept.

dd use to love to take cold fried chicken, or pork chops for her lunch.

I also would put homemade stews and soups in a small thermos, and she loved that.

I purchased the stainless thermos that are about 5" tall... I boil water pour into the thermos for 10 minutes to get it warmed up before I put the cooked food in. Here are some of the things my girls like:

nuggets
hot dogs
corn dogs
soup
pizza rolls
mac n cheese
leftovers
spegetti o's
rice

hope these ideas can get you started...

Do you pour boiling water in it, then pour it out?

Thanks

Yes, you pour the boiling water out after it has heated up the thermos and before putting in the food.
