Do you buy a new ornament every year? - Page 2

ok.. for the past 5 years we have done the personalized ornaments... this year though we did not.. i had to choose between more presents for the kids or less for them..and get ornament. We usually buy the ornament at the same place and this year... i had to pass on it cause it was 20.00. I was bummed about that decision... and then later thought hmm we can go elsewhere get a cheaper one and i can personalize it myself... and time got away and we never did.

How awful would it be if I got one now... discounted and threw on the tree before we take it down 1/1/2011 ? ? lol ... ? ?

DD gets three one from Santa that shows something about that year like this year she was in dance class so she got a snowman with a tutu on. One from us is an angle. The last one is from my mom and it is just whatever she sees that makes her think of DD that year. She will have a tree full when she moves out. Most of my tree is full of ornaments I got growing up. It was my favorite part of Christmas final getting to get that ornament that was taped on the box off.

Yes. We started doing one for each of us, but one year the only one we liked was huge and $20 and we got in a big fight over it, so we just got the one. Now we usually just do one.

Not awful at all. I've done it plenty of times and in a few years, no one will remember that it was bought after Christmas. My oldest DD was separating her ornaments and boxing them up and she doesn't even remember when she got half of them! So I say, if you can find them now, get them.

Yes, we buy a bunch every year. I buy whatever I find that I like on clearance after the holiday and the kids each pick out a new one every year. I use to buy the really nice pewter ones at Things Remembered and get them personalized each year with the kids names plus the Make a Wish ornament of the year, but stopped that last year b/c it was getting pricey. I think they enjoy picking out cute cheaper ones now anyway!
