Did you put plastic on your windows to keep out the cold air?

Being that I live in Florida I never have had to. That is until this year. We have a very large back screened porch that we use as part of the main house alot, so we wrapped it in a thick layer of plastic so that is will keep the colder air out and still be somewhat comfy to enjoy during the afternoons.

Have you put plastic up on your windows or covered a porch to help cut back on the cold air coming into the house?

We have always put plastic on our windows to help keep it warm and cut down on heating bills. Now, since we put new windows in the living & dining rooms we don't have to cover those ones. We also have towels under the doors.

We have put plastic on our windows in the past, but we just replaced the last of our leaky windows, so we haven't put any up this year.

I live in Idaho and have some windows that I probably should put plastic up but I hate, hate, HATE plastic in the windows. It's depressing to me. And I usually do it wrong. No, I usually just have curtains that cover them up at night.

Never heard of doing that, and don't think I'd care to.

We do in our kids bedrooms and it sounds way tackier than it is. It comes in a kit from Lowes. It is a huge sheet of plastic that just seals around the edges super tight so it looks like you are just looking out glass. You can completely see out it and it is clear. I just can't stand the thought of my kids being cold so I do it every year.

We recently installed double glazed windows in all of our house's bedrooms and can really feel the difference in Winter and in Summer.

They cost us a bit but we feel much more secure and have cut down significantly on out heating and cooling bills.

We put plastic on every single window that we have. I also plastic up our crappy old door in our living room.

Yes, this year we did kitchen bay windows. They are the worst in the house, and hopefully getting replaced in the next year.
