Facebook: How much is too much?

I am the first to admit, I LOVE facebook. Its a great way to keep in touch with people I havn't seen, to set up events with friends, and I am a fan of about 100 differnt money saving blogs. Social media is really a wonderful thing these days! (Plus I love the time wasting games. LOL Where else can you get all of that?? LMAO)

I recently got accused of sharing too much on facebook, though I try to be careful about what I do share on there. I try to post funny things, 'safe' things, and most of my postings are where to find deals, coupons, codes for online shopping, and stuff like that. I've very popular among my friends, cuz they know if they are looking for a deal to come to me and ask where they can find it. LOL SO honestly,I have no clue what I was sharing that was so personal according to some people.

What is too much to share on facebook??

Maybe they think you are sharing too many of the good deals they want for themselves lol. Honestly I have a friend who is in labor right now and for the last day has been giving updates on all the details of the dr appts, water breaking, etc. If that doesn't constitute as TMI then I doubt you really did anything too bad.

Well, from my FB you will not learn anything about my sex life. My checking / savings account or my credit rating. You will not seriously ever know if I'm really ticked off at my husband nor will one know when I'm really stressing over something with my children.

I'll talk about the weather. My health. The funny things the kids do and a bit of politics. Actually FB is becoming my favorite place for local politics.

I think a lot of people share too much info on facebook. No one wants to know about every fight someone has with their spouse or child. I find it funny when people go from "single" to "in a relationship" every couple of weeks. Like everyone is dying to know that.

I think melsb summed it up pretty well. Although, I have used FB as an outlet once when I had an issue come up at work where someone was spreading a nasty rumor about me. Since there are a few coworkers on my FB and I knew what I said would be repeated, I let it be known that the rumor had no basis in reality and if I found out who started they would be reported to the big boss at work.

Now, what kills me is the people who accept friend requests on FB from their bosses/supervisors. That's just insanity to me.

I seriously can't think of anytime you have shared too much on Facebook. I don't share a lot of personal details. Mostly I brag about my kids' sports accomplishments

I don't post a lot of info at all. Mostly things that the kids do so that our family can keep up to date.

I feel this way too. I mainly will post things (I'm sure people find boring) about my kids.

I recently closed my account, just didn't want to bother with it anymore.
