May Day Baskets: Are you giving them this year?

We've done them on a semi-regular basis for a few years. This year, the Target Easter Clearance hit at JUST the right time! I was able to get the baskets themselves and the candy to go inside for 90% off!! I was pretty excited. We were able to make each basket for around $.50 each! Here are some photos of my Target finds and the May Day baskets we created.

What's a May Day basket? It looks just like a little Easter basket, a week after Easter. I don't get it?

The kids just decorated paper for me. I am going to roll paper to make a cone and put a piece of paper across to finish it. It will then have a bag of 72 cent M&M's from the 75% clearance at Target today.

I can't believe you've never heard of them! We grew up with this tradition. It's a basket of candy/treats that you leave at a neighbor's doorstep. You ring the bell and them hide. Super fun for kids!

Using this year some candy and flower seed packets.

In the past have given small pack of annuals, cones filled with popcorn/candy, mason jars of goodies.

Such a great tradition to leave for friends and neighbors.

I've never heard of them before either (I grew up in SoCal), but it looks like a cute idea and tradition!!

Those (frugal) baskets turned out wonderful Kim!
