scratch brownies

3 tbsp. butter
2 eggs
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup baking cocoa MIXED to paste with warm water
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts( optional)
1 cup flour

oven to 350

cream butter and brown sugar well.
beat eggs.
add eggs and cocoa paste to sugar mixture.
mix baking powder and flour.
alternate flour and milk to rest.
add walnuts if using last.
pour into 8x8 pan.
bake for 25 minutes...keep an eye on them.

Scratch brownies are so easy, and I love them much better than boxed. Or store bought.
But I lost my favorite recipe. It is in the Not Just Beans cook book. There were two recipes, one for a 9x13 and one for an 8x8. I liked the 9x13 better. I think it called for melted butter. I think that makes the recipe even easier.

Being that I am on a diet, I am off to find the black bean brownie recipe.
