Magically it seemed to make it better, before I read the leaflet with it that said it is sometimes used to alleviate migraines. So maybe I really do get migraine headaches, who knows?

I did read that too about there being no such thing as a sinus headache/migraine. That's interesting about the Klonopin. My 19yo dd has been getting migraines since she was 14 and has tried everything (Topamax, Amitripyline, Keppra etc). Nothing has worked. She gets some form of headache (her neurologist calls them all migraines) 15+ times a month. Never tried the Konopin. That might be something to look into... Thanks!

For me, which seems to be the opposite for most, if I can't take an Imitrex, just keeping busy helps get my mind off of it and although it still hurts, I am not fully aware of it. With nothing to do, I just concentrate on the pain. It's one reason I never take a sick day because of a migraine.

I just stop thinking of it, and believe it would go well.

Since my insurance copay for Treximet is less than what it would cost for the Imitrex copay plus out-of-pocket cost of Aleve, I'll just let the insurance pay for the whole shebang. That's why I have it.

It's amazing the differences in insurance. I have no copay for generic Imetrex, but a $60 per month copay for Treximet.

I WISH there was even one drug that I had no copay for. But at least my copay maxes out at $50.

That's true. Sinus headache is a misnomer of sorts. What it actually is, a "sinus-triggered migraine". I was all confused too but my ds's doctor explained it to me.

I feel so much better knowing I'm not suffering alone . My dh just does not "get" the whole migraine thing probably because he never had one!! I think mine are triggered by "sinus" issues, but a whole mixed of other things can bring one on. I have been taking the Amitripyline for about 8 months or so and they seem to lessen by attacks. Usually if I feel one coming on I start with 2 excredins (sometimes I think I keep Excredin in business) but if that does not seem to bring on relief in about 20 minutes I know have the prescription Frova. (its just as ridiculously priced as the Imitrex) but after so many years on Imitrex it lost its effectiveness. The frova usually works to get rid of it - but sometimes I need to take a second dose of it before its fully gone.

I was told that Frova was good for "period" migraines. So if you always get a migraine the day or day after your period and you know when your period will start, then you can use Frova--you use it for 5 days straight. I never tried it because I was afraid it wouldn't work and then I wouldn't be able to take Imetrex (which does still work for me).
