Zenni Optical progressive lenses? Anyone

I've heard people rave for ages about this site. They DO offer the progressive, no line multifocal glasses... howEVER

The 'optician' told me that you can't order progressive lenses online because they need to measure how far on the glasses to put what range...

I'm GUESSING that zenni uses some sort of 'average'? Called but I think they're customer service is closed for the day.

Anyone have 'optician' knowledge? or experience ordering progressives online?

They (on line places) ask for measurements always. I have not ordered but looked into it most the time they want a fax from your eye dr

They need PD measurement *pupillary distance* but the optician was saying that they have to measure for each 'range' of the prescription... Finally got to zenni and did the chat help and they use a 'formula that most users find workable',,, which is sorta what I thought since they offer the progressives. Just have to fill in all the info on their online form

I realize I was unclear in the first post.. the 'real life eye doctor office optician' is the one that said I couldn't order online,,, the place onine 'obviously' says I can; just wanted to know if anyones had the 'workable' formula of online before

I haven't ordered progressives from them but ordered glasses for my son and everyone compliments him wherever he goes! They were only $15.

If you buy glasses online, how do you get them adjusted to fit your face. I always have to stop by several times before they are totally comfortable.

I ordered a pair of glasses off the Zenni site and LOVE them! Mine are not progressive lenses, but DO make sure you get your P.D. measurements from your eye doctor's office and not try to guess off the website like i did. It just so happened that i had to take my DH to the eye doc right after i put in my order to Zenni and the lady was nice enough to measure my P.D. at the same time she did DH's. Then when i got home i had to cancel my Zenni order and reorder with the correct measurements. I got a complete pair of glasses(frames, single vision lenses and anti reflection coating) for $19.00 that includes the shipping cost. I get lots of compliments on them, they are the trendy plastic frames with wide sides, burgandy with little chrystals on the sides. I want to order sunglasses there for next summer too.

I took mine to a local place and they didn't ask questions about where i got them, thankfully!
