Too many books to read from the library

Has it ever happened to you when you get a pile of books from the library that you reserved and not enough time to read them?

That happens to me with the ebooks I reserve from the library. It always seems they come in at the same time! Or sometimes they come in in the wrong order, ie if I am reading a series, I will reserve 2 books at a time, because they take so long to come in, so sometimes I will get book 4 before book 3 etc. So then I have to wait to see if I get book 3 before book 4 gets too close to running out of time (I get 21 days to read an ebook I borrow.)

We can't renew books if someone else has a hold on it though. Some of these are new releases that have long lists of people waiting for them.

Happens to me all the time - I'll be waiting for two or three new releases and they all come in at the same time. Our library has asked that people don't just pick up some of their holds, either - it used to be that since they were held for a week you could check one out but leave the others, and that gave you an extra week of wiggle room. I can understand why they don't want you to do that, but if I waited the whole week to pick them all up they would be out of circulation for that extra time anyway.

Yep happens to me. if It's something I really wanted to read and I need like 4 more day I will pay the late fee if I don't want to wait to re-check it out.

I have found sometimes if I have alot of things on reserve especially dvd's if you look on the shelfs sometimes they are there as quick picks and you can get them early.

I prefer to have books lined up then to have no books to read. If I have to return it because it is due, I'll just make a note to reserve it again.
