Shoes at the door! Listen to this... - Page 2

This is one of those occasions where your husband is learning something in college that isn't on the syllabus.

He should not only go, he should go cheerfully. He should dress up. Bring something nice to share, bring a hostess gift and bring his own - higher quality "footies". He needs to set himself apart.

Like you said, he isn't a beleaguered "college student". He is a man in his 50's. He is a man-o-f-the-world. He should know, by now, how to rise to the occasion, especially when it is an unreasonable "boss" making the demand.

I was going to say something like this too.

Oh me too!  Definitely.  Sometimes you  just have to do what you have to do!

This dude sounds like a real nutjob. "I'm having a party and you're coming and enjoying yourself whether you like it or not!"

Demanding everyone bring pricey food is ridiculous, but the shoe thing takes the cake. What if someone has a club foot? I'm sure they're going to be thrilled showing everyone that. What if someone is required to wear a lift in one of their shoes? I'm sure they're going to be thrilled to pieces hobbling around all night. mad.gif

I have a son with bad asthma so I ask people to take their shoes off at the door and get comfortable.  :)  So far the only person who has had a problem with this is my father-in-law.  I guess I could get the shoe covers they give doctors and let everyone wear their shoes but that would be strange too.  However, I think it is RUDE to tell people to bring something and give them the approved list.
