Do you think this is appropriate for a yearbook picture? - Page 2

Things have changed so much over the years.  We were allowed full body shorts for senior pictures just head shots.   I don't think it is the best for a year book and think she just thought she looked her best in that picture.

At my kids HS they STILL only do head/upper chest shots.   They all have to go to the same studio to get them done and have traditional poses.  Probably 50% of the boys wear jacket, dress shirt and tie, another 30-40% wear just a dress shirt and tie and then 10% wear polos etc.   The girls all wear modest dresses or nice tops that will photograph well with simple jewelry and hairstyles.   Certainly no playmate of the month poses.   They and the photographer select the senior picture for the yearbook before they leave the studio.   The photographer that does our senior picture photos would have never done a shot like that.

Obviously the kids take other photos for their senior pictures they hand out (for example my DD did some with her cello and lots of different outfits and my DS did some with his football letter jacket, etc) but those weren't for the yearbook.

Our school does supply a photographer so you can use that one and its the usual 'head shots', but you can also get your own shots done too and submit your favorite for the senior picture.   I have NEVER heard of such a sleezy picture though, MOST people I know actually like the idea of a classy picture for thier senior yearbook.

Where are the parents?? The dad, I don't know.  But the mom was on the Today Show yesterday and claimed something to the effect of 'I'm her mom and part of my job is to say 'You Go Girl! Go get them!'.  UH NO.  Your job is to say "I'm sorry sweetie, but that picture makes you look cheap and trashy, and I can not support that"  SO there ya go.

It wasn't so much just the picture to me, it was her pose as well.  Maybe just the outfit would have been OK (Maybe...) but her pose made her look like a hooker or p0rn star.  JMO.

There is another photo she submitted  that was also not accepted, of her in a strapless dress, with a similar seductive pose against a wall.

Of course it's not appropriate, but this girl and her mother know exactly they're doing IMO. She wants to be model and they figured out a way to get her picture out there for millions of people to see. I really don't think they care if her picture is in the yearbook. They wanted attention and now they've got it.

Haha look what I found?  http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1366764763

This is the mom's profile. I didn't go searching it out, it came up when I searched for more info on this story.  The picture in her profile is the second picture that was also rejected from the year book.
