SWAP & SELL ON FACEBOOK!

I had been noticing a lot of my firends on facebook talking about "swap & sell" I contacted one of them about what exactly it was and apparently there are "secret" groups on facebook that sell and trade items.  There are also some "Free Pages" where there are listing all of their items for free if you pick them up.  This is a GREAT idea you can get rid of things you dont want and get things that you are looking for and it saves money!  Does anyone else belong to a swap and sell?

You mean like "Craigslist" or "Freecycle"?

Yep, there are several of those in my area.  Problem is you have to know someone to know someone to get invited from what I have seen.  I did belong to two groups...one was for baby stuff.  We did go buy a few small items for Cayden before she was born, but in the end, I'd just assume buy at Goodwill.  Now FREE...that might be a different story!

Very cool!  You know we have a bartering board (and an RAK board) in our forums also.

It's a great way to trade items between others in our community who may be able to use them.  smile.gif

I have been posting on the RAK board.  I have TONS  of coupons that I am not using and I hate to throw them away so i have them up for grabs if anyone is interested they can send me a wish list.

I just joined a local swap and sell page.  Our Freecycle has a sister group called the community cafe (mostly the same members, but it is a place to get recommendations or advice, etc) and someone posted on there about the FB page.  It is a closed group, but I didn't have to know anyone to be added - I just clicked "ask to join group" on the page.  You could probably search FB for one in your area, too.

I haven't posted anything yet, but I am planning to after we purge the basement.  I know I have some stuff that I don't necessarily want to give away, but would be willing to part with for cash.

I have seen groups like that on FB too.  I just recently joined Freecycle.  And we have bought a few things off of Craigslist.
