With food being so expensive, awhile ago i decided i will no longer buy cakes, cookies, pies or sweet breads at the store. I've saved a bit. I prefer homemade goodies.
Tonight i used up some bananas i had put in the freezer when they had turned brown & made a bunch of banana breads. I took one to our neighbors & she loved it. She asked how i made it......i was taken aback. She asked if i put yeast in it? I asked her if she ever made banana bread & she said "no"......so it really got me thinking about how much money people could save if they just take a little time & make their own goodies. I used to think baking, cooking takes a lot of time, but i don't think that way anymore.
Any thoughts?
