Anyone ever had a maltese or maltese mix dog?

My daughter and I are looking at our dog options.  Our dog passed away in November, and we would really like to get another one eventually (dh is against it right now because we travel a lot).  We both want a small, non-shedding dog.  We think the maltipoos, morkies, and maltese dogs we've seen are adorable.  Anyone have any feedback on their temperament or other things we should consider?

I don't have any info to offer you, but DANG!! Those things are cute! I just showed my DH and we're crushing on that matipoo big time!!!

I know.  Too cute for words.  Dh says they won't be as cute when they're peeing and pooping on the floor though.  He's tough to win over, but dd and I are working on him.

I have never had one.

 

But E brother and his wife who live in WI, have 4. They are adorable and every time we go up there, I fall in love with them. And all 4 of them have different personalities. The little girl rules the roost. And the three boys, let her!!

Now I want one even more!  If we get a girl we want to name her Stella.

I like the name stella.

 

Their names are Briley (the girl), riley the oldest, cody and brody. Riley is around 8 and he is very laid back. Cody and brody are probably 5, they are brothers and they got them at the same time, so they have always been together. Briley is about 1 year old. She is a diva. Spoiled and just runs all over the boys. I just love to go up there and be around them.

I don't know about maltese, but my MIL has a Shorkie (shih-tzu/yorkie) and it is one of the most even tempered, sweetest, cutest dogs I have ever met. It looks just like an ewok. She normally has issues with her dogs not being completely house broken, she's not the most motivated person, but this one has done great.  It also does not bark much and does not have the goopy eye issues like shih-tzus do. Not the smartest dog, but no brain no headache!

 

(I know you were asking about maltese, but the morkie made me think of it and how the yorkie mix has improved some of the shih-tzu issues)

Officers on the scene of Petland near Walmart. A unknown black male ran out of the store with a $1800 Maltese puppy and got into a waiting vehicle.

 

 

These are cute, but not worth going to jail for.  :)
