Other Uses for... "Ice Cube Trays"

Do you have a stack of ice cube trays that you don't use, but just can't bare to part with?  How about using them for different purposes than their intended.

*Use them in your drawers for keeping small things rounded up.  Such as office supplies, jewelry or nails.

*Freeze your extra eggs.  A medium size egg will fit perfect, just crack the egg in each cell, freeze and then pop out and put them all in a storage bag.

Add your ideas!!!

We use them to hold paint when the kids are painting.

Freeze wine or broth so that you have just enough for a recipe...

Make your own baby food, pop them out once frozen and keep in ziploc freezer bag.

Pour in melted candle wax from the end of the candles. Let them sit up and then use them in a tart burner or Scentsy warmer.

Chop fresh herbs and put them in the cube tray, then add a little water. After they freeze, you can pop them out and store them in a ziploc freezer bag to use for recipes later. I do this with cilantro, mostly. I buy one bunch for a recipe but don't ever need all of it.

Freeze brewed coffee. Then, when you make iced coffee, use the coffee ice cubes so your coffee doesn't get diluted.

Another idea I just read was to make cranberry juice or strawberry juice ice cubes to serve in lemonade. Yum!

I have also heard to do this with the brewed coffee leftovers and add one cube or so to a chocolate brownie recipe.  It is suppose to enhance the chocolate flavor.

I use mine to freeze pesto cubes

I also saw a party idea where they put kid-friendly food in each section, and stacked them up for an easy-to-serve meal for the kids.

We freeze koolaid in ours...and then put them IN their koolaid drinks.  When the "ice" melts, it's fresh koolaid!!!

I just came across this ice cube tray toddler meal that I mentioned. I looked everywhere before and couldn't find it again.

we do this too.  It comes in so handy!  I freeze the broth in the ice cube tray, then transfer into a freezer ziplock back and then I can use however much I need.  :)
