Fill in the blank if there is something you are tired of paying more for.

If the price of ____________________ goes up I'm no longer buying it, I'm finding a cheaper alternative or I'm going to cut back on it.

Bacon

I seriously can't think of anything! I am still in sticker-shock with American food prices, but I buy what I buy.  I'll do what I can to get stuff cheaper, but I'm not planning to cut anything out.

Soda.  I'm addicted, but I will either cut back or quit altogether if it keeps going up.

Air travel.  It seems to me like airfare has gone up a lot in the past year or so.  We won't give up traveling, but may do less of it. We already decided not to go visit my parents in FL this winter, largely due to the cost.

Between issues with TSA and the cost of flying all three of us, we've cut back on air travel, too. And this is sad because now we're stuck in the Deep South with family and friends all the way over on the west coast. We have two weddings coming up in the next few months and it looks like we won't make either one.

I don't think bacon is all that expensive, not compared to some of the other meat products I buy. Fortunately, we already don't buy it a lot.

I guess we've cut back on ice cream. We don't eat it nearly as much as we used to and we have consciously cut back in our serving sizes. Since it is a dairy product and none of us do well with digesting dairy, we probably would benefit all around by eliminating ice cream all together. Another is butter. We still eat an awful lot of it (on popcorn, for instance). And the price on butter, especially the organic stuff, is mind boggling. I used to be able to pick up name brand butter for $2! Not anymore.

Crackers!

The one everyone is thinking   GAS!

Really I love making it down to visit my family but it is a tank of gas. I think we will be looking for more that is closer to home.  I will be inviting friends to come to me more.

We will still do it but between making camping reservations and going camping memorial day I am sure it will take an extra $20 to get us there.

Nothing right now, but we have already cut back purchasing some types of meat. I rarely buy hamburger anymore, and I raid the managers specials at Kroger. I bought a huge steak for Dh for his birthday and the stupid thing cost over 15 dollars. I told him he would not see another one until his birthday again. ROTF.gif
