Does an actor or actress in a movie...

sway your decision on whether you will see it or not?

 

For instance - we watched Water for Elephants yesterday while DH was at work.  He had "absolutely no desire" to see it, but not based on what it was about, it was based on the fact that he doesn't like Robert Pattinson.

I won't see anything with Tom Cruise. Can't stand him.

I haven't watched a Tom Cruise movie since his idiotic comments about Brooke Shields.

My dh is the same way, if it has someone he doesn't like in it, he won't watch it. My father refuses to watch anything with Jane Fonda in it. He is still very angry over her protests on the Vietnam war (Hanoia Jane) because he's a Vietnam war veteran.

OMG!!! ROTF.gif I thought my DH was the only person who still hated Jane Fonda for that. He gets upset anytime she's even shown on TV.

There are MANY actors who I don't like because of their political stances or their personal lives. I don't rush out to see their movies, but if I really want to see a movie, I'll see it even if they're in it.

Oh yeah, Mom rented the movie "Georgia Rule" with Jane Fonda in it and didn't tell him. They started watching the movie and as soon as he saw her in it, he got up and left the room!

Steven Seagal. I can't STAND him. Luckily his hey-day is pretty much over in action movies but yes, I absolutely refuse to watch any of his movies.

Me too.  I don't get his appeal at all.   He has a big nose. He isn't sexy to me at all.

I agree about Tom Cruise.  I can't sit through movies with him in them.

 

And, even if he just has a cameo, I will pay full price to see ANY movie with Johnny Depp.
