Ridiculous.  My dd was in GS for 4 years.  She was never "sexualized" and I never saw anyone promoting homosexuality.

It surprises me just how often i hear about Girl Scout's liberal agenda. I have had parents complain about it and truthfully, I am baffled. The only thing I have seen a "liberal spin", through the organization, is that they want the program to be "girl led" which, in turn, helps make girls leaders. If that is your biggest complaint, making a girl a leader, well, than I suppose the GS organization is not for you or your daughter.

I will have to read up on the American Heritage Girls Little Flowers and see what they promote.

The First Lady is ALWAYS  the honorary President. Did this idiot have a problem with Girl Scouts when the Bush women were first ladies and honorary Presidents?

 

So does he have any complaints about Boy Scouts.....are they making homosexuals as well.

This theory on GS has been around for YEARS, and yes, even during the Bush years. I had never heard of it until a few years ago and was surprised when I first heard it, but then someone provided links to some sites that talk about it. So no, it's not a thought process made up solely to bash Obama. Does sound though like some are using it to use the famous broad brush stroke to label the "GOP" as attacking women instead of attacking the one individual who said it. Of course it's utter nonsense and I had my DD in GS all the way through 12th grade which is practically unheard of. I view this just as I view what any wacko on either side of the aisle says. Utterings of a wacko and not to be taken seriously. Not even worth mentioning in my book because as I said.....there have been a few people around who have had this belief for many, many years, and obviously it hasn't hurt GS.

I attended a policy meeting for our GS council this weekend in Spokane, Washington this past weekend and right before we broke for lunch, the council head actually said grace. I won't say it was the most religious of prayers but it was a prayer and it did include amen at the end.

I had to laugh to myself when I thought of this thread.

M'ija was in GS from elementary thru high school, and I am an adult GS. The only time she got any kind of information about sex in GS was as part of a health program co-sponsored by Woman's Hospital, and the main focus of it was not sex per se, but female puberty, and the changes the girls could expect to see and feel in their bodies. And the hospital required parental permission for the girls to attend.

It's not like every box of Thin Mints comes with a free sample of RU-486.
