Summer Bucket List - Page 2

We did this last year and already have ours started for this year.

I color code mine on slips of paper.  Orange for stuff at home, blue for stuff that can be done in a quick trip and green for all day stuff.

I put them all in a old happy meal box and at the beginning of the week depending our our time restraints I tell my son which and how many of each colors to pick and then plan the week.

Here's our list:

-Swimming at Poppaw's house

-hiking/nature hunt

-visit a fair or festival

-go to the beach at Buffalo Trace Park

-Paint Spot

-Louisville Nature Center

-Louisville Zoo

-Chuck E Cheese- using free summer reading tokens

-Bowling- using free passes from school

-$1 movies

-park picnic and playground

-Schmiff's Candy Tour & Museum

-Bats Baseball Game-free passes

-swimming at the public pool

-Creekside Splash Pad

-Louisville Slugger Museum- free passes

-go fishing

-make chocolate suckers with smiley face mold

-have a treasure hunt

-make glow bubbles

-have a Backyard Beach party

-camp in the backyard and make smores in the fire pit

-participate in the summer reading programs around town

-catch fireflies

-play with solar paper

-go out for frozen yogurt

-make slushies

-make window clings

-paint rocks

-play board games

-Sonic Happy Hour

-movie marathon

-make chocolate dipped bananas

-make cotton candy

-go to Krispy Kreme for doughnut sundaes

And this is my personal bucket list:

-read at least 10 books

-make at least one new summery recipe a week

-have a traveling dinner(appetizer, dinner and dessert from all different places)

-have the girls over for drinks on the deck

-get a facial

-make a fairy/gnome garden in my flower beds

-make some of the drinks from my Pinterest list

-make some of the crafts from my Pinterest list

-go to the Farmer's market weekly and plan my menu around my good finds

Great lists!  I'll think about this and get back with a list.  I really need to get out and do some things with the kids.

Does anyone have a fun way to display their summer bucket list?

Glow Bubbles (saw this packaged for sell at Target Store)

You can do it yourself cheaply

1 small container of bubbles

1 glow stick, cut & poured into bubble solution

now blow bubbles at night!  :)

Bubbles will last a long time & bounce some on the surface of water - found out while canoeing :)

In winter, bubbles will freeze & roll along the snow.  They will break when you catch them - but... that is for freezing temperatures!

(sorry, got on a roll there with the bubble idea...)

both DS and DD made lists of what they wanted to do this summer.

they seem to have forgotten mum now works full time as there are not enough weekends to do it.

what a great idea!

Kim, I saw Valleyfair on your list!  We did that every summer, I love it there.  sigh, maybe one day I'll get to take the kiddos.  My favorite was the log water ride... though I could just be showing my age if it's not there anymore!

We tried making the glow bubbles, but they didn't work at all.  Epic fail.  LOL!

We love Valleyfair. Although I will never do Steel Venom again. I like roller coasters but do NOT like looking down at the ground as I free fall.

I just write them down on a piece of white poster board and tape it to the basement door. Girls get to cross things off as we do them.
