Have you seen the viral video about Joseph Kony?  After just three days online it already has over 40 million views.  It's not without controversy, however.  There will be much more coming out about this campaign in the weeks to come.  What are your thoughts?

I've heard about it and I've heard there's a lot of controversy about it, but admit I've not watched it since it's pretty long.

I have not watched it either, my laptop has no sound at the moment.

However I have heard the controversy already too.  Basically the issue is the people behind the video, not using the funds they recieve as intended, and actually HELP this Kony guy, instead of stopping him.

I would find other ways to donate to a cause if thats what you are wanting to do, and not donate tothis one directly.

I watched it. I am impressed at the thought, time, and commitment put into the plan.

I just watched it this AM.... Honestly I wasn't going to watch the whole thing, I thought "Ugh, 30 minutes" and started to skip through it, but happened to land on when he first met Jacob....I had to go back and watch the whole thing...It was compelling. Very well put together and educational...for me at least...I had no idea who Kony was frown.gif I do now mad.gif

I watched it and became immediately suspicious. I thought it was a very well done film, though. I just want to learn more about the organization and the people behind it. But it was very compelling.

I agree...so very compelling...and while I am not jumping in to send money, it is something I was not aware of until now and would like to research more now.  And I am going  home to hug my babies and be even more grateful for living in a country that I never doubt my ability to go home to do so.

One of the criticisms I read about today is the fact that we have kids in America who are homeless, suffering, etc. We should be helping to solve domestic issues first.  What are your thoughts on that?

Kim, this may get me flamed, but I totally agree with this statement.  It kills me what our country puts into helping OTHER countries before helping our own.  I think too many of us are blind when it comes to what is right under our noses in our own communities.

Did you all see THIS?  Wow!  The producer has a "Naked Meltdown" yesterday.  Strange, for sure.
