A while ago I did a Sense of Taste activity with my preschooler. it was such a hit that we did a similar activity to learn about our Sense of Touch. I gathered objects with as many different textures as I could think of. I made a little label for each texture, and grabbed some tape. First, I read all the sense of touch labels to my preschooler. Then, she picked one item at a time. We talked about what it felt like and reviewed our touch labels. Then, she decided what texture it was and I let her tape the labels to each item. Using the tape was probably her favorite part.
Here are the sense of touch labels and which items we used:
cold: ice
sticky: tape
rough: sand paper
soft: small plush toy
smooth: cup
fluffy: cotton ball
wet: water
crinkly: plastic bag
hard: book
squishy: playdough
You could come up with lots of other ideas, but this is what we had on hand.
